Raipur. Governor Ramen Deka today administered the oath of office to Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra as Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Chhattisgarh Mandapam in Lok Bhavan. Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra has become the 16th Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh.

Prior to his appointment, Justice Shri Mohapatra was serving as a senior judge of the Orissa High Court.

Governor Ramen Deka presented Chief Justice Shri Mohapatra with a copy of the original warrant issued by the President of India. He congratulated Chief Justice Shri Mohapatra and extended his best wishes.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Tokhan Sahu, former Chief Minister  Bhupesh Baghel, former Governor Ramesh Bais, Rajya Sabha MP Lakshmi Verma, MLAs Sunil Soni and Anuj Sharma, and other public representatives were present on the occasion.

Chief Justice Mohapatra’s wife, Anita Mohapatra, and judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh also attended the ceremony. The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel, who also read out the warrant issued by the President.

Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahu; Principal Secretary, Home Department, Niharika Barik Singh; Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam; Secretary to the Governor Dr. C.R. Prasanna; Advocate General Vivek Sharma; Registrar General of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur, Rajneesh Shrivastava; senior State Government officials; and advocates of the High Court were also present.
