Appeals to people to light an ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ in every household at 7 pm on September 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday
Aashirwad Ka Diya’ to symbolise wishes for the Prime Minister’s healthy and long life, along with a collective resolve for public welfare and a developed India – Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai
Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday urged the people of Chhattisgarh to turn the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan into a celebration of public participation by joining service, cleanliness, environmental protection and welfare initiatives.
The campaign will be held from September 17 to October 17 across the country. In an appeal to the people, Vishnu Deo Sai said Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has dedicated 25 years of his life to the nation and public service.
“Service is an integral part of Chhattisgarh’s culture and values. Every citizen should contribute to making this campaign a celebration of public service and participation,” the chief minister said.
He urged people to undertake service activities in their villages, towns and neighbourhoods, including cleanliness drives, environmental protection and assistance to those in need. He also called upon them to encourage others to participate.
Chief Minister said welfare and development schemes under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought positive changes to the lives of lakhs of families. The expansion of basic facilities such as pucca houses, clean drinking water, electricity, roads, healthcare and education has helped improve living standards, he said.
The chief minister said the benefits of development are reflected in the dreams fulfilled, growing confidence and improved well-being of ordinary citizens.
Making a special appeal ahead of the Prime Minister’s birthday, Vishnu Deo Sai urged every family in Chhattisgarh to light an ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ at home at 7 pm on September 17. He also called upon people to encourage beneficiary families in their neighbourhoods to join the initiative.
The diya, he said, would symbolise the people’s wishes for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s healthy and long life, as well as their collective resolve towards public welfare and the building of a developed India.
Referring to the campaign’s wider purpose, the Chief Minister said every section of society should undertake at least one act of service according to its capacity. Public participation in such efforts can bring broad and lasting change in society, he said.
He added that Chhattisgarh government is committed to making a strong contribution to the building of a developed India. This vision can be realised only when villages developed, cities progressed and every family became part of the mainstream of development.
Calling upon the people to participate in the campaign, the chief minister said, “Let us join hands to make the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan a celebration of public participation in Chhattisgarh and ensure the state’s strong contribution to the building of a developed India through service and public welfare.”
