Jagdalpur. The Bastar Postal Division of the India Post has created history by achieving remarkable success in a one-day insurance drive. During the special Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) campaign held on 19 November 2025, the division secured a massive milestone with 7,300 insurance proposals, generating a record insured amount of ₹2,37,29,00,000 (₹237.29 crore) in just one day. A total premium of ₹3,25,84,385 was collected, marking the division’s highest-ever achievement to date.
During this statewide one-day insurance initiative, a total of 28,516 proposals amounting to ₹8,13,10,99,000 (₹813.10 crore) were received across Chhattisgarh, in which Bastar contributed the highest share. With this extraordinary performance, Bastar Postal Division secured the first position at the state level, reflecting the growing public confidence in the government-backed postal insurance schemes.
Sub-divisions including Kondagaon, Farasgaon, and Jagdalpur played a crucial role in making the campaign successful. Residents in these areas showed keen interest in PLI and RPLI schemes, resulting in a significant number of new policy enrollments.
Expressing his delight, Superintendent of Post Offices, Bastar Division, Shri Gyanesh Kumar Mishra, said that this achievement is the result of the sincere efforts of postal employees and the trust of the people of Bastar. He stated that Postal Life Insurance, being a secure, transparent, and beneficial government insurance scheme, has now become the preferred choice of citizens.
The Postal Department has extended heartfelt gratitude to the public, officers, insurance agents, and branch post offices for contributing to this historic accomplishment. The department reiterated its commitment to continue working towards ensuring insurance security for every household and strengthening the social security network in the region.
