Jagdalpur. Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap said that it is only the BJP government that has given the tribal community due respect and rightful recognition in society. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the BJP/NDA government is carrying out comprehensive developmental work for the tribal community in economic, social, cultural and educational sectors. The MP also targeted the Congress for continuously neglecting and disrespecting the tribal society.

Addressing a press conference held on Wednesday at the BJP district office, the BJP MP from Bastar Parliamentary Constituency Mahesh Kashyap said that on 15 November, Prime Minister Modi gifted the nation with the celebration of Tribal Pride Day. The 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda is being celebrated across the country as Tribal Pride Day. This year, a month-long series of events is being organized to mark this occasion. The nation is remembering and honouring the tribal freedom fighters and great personalities who sacrificed everything for society, culture, the country and the motherland. Launching an attack on the Congress for neglecting and insulting the tribal community, Mr. Kashyap said that the Congress has always insulted tribals and continues to do so even today. Across the country, Congress has deprived tribals of leadership opportunities. The intention of the Congress leadership is to prevent the upliftment of the tribal community, which is why they have no tribal leadership today. In contrast, the BJP has given special importance to the tribal community in social, political and cultural spheres. Today, the highest constitutional office of the country is adorned by President Droupadi Murmu. It is a matter of great pride that she will be visiting Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh on 20 November as part of the Tribal Pride Day celebrations.

MP Mahesh Kashyap further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Sai, numerous welfare and development initiatives are being carried out for tribal communities. Referring to schemes like the Aadi Adarsh Gram Yojana, PM Janman Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat, he said that the BJP government has ensured significant benefits for tribal families through various programmes. While Prime Minister Modi is celebrating Tribal Pride Day with the family of Bhagwan Birsa Munda as a mark of respect, Chief Minister Sai is sharing the stage with the family of the brave martyr Gundadhur, highlighting the BJP’s commitment towards safeguarding tribal interests. Museums are being constructed in ten tribal-majority states to preserve and showcase the legacy of tribal freedom fighters and their heritage.

Attending the press conference were BJP District President Vedprakash Pandey, former MP Dinesh Kashyap, former MLA Baiduram Kashyap, District Panchayat President Mrs. Vedvati Kashyap, District Panchayat Vice President Baldev Mandavi, Janpad President Padlam Nag, and District Panchayat Member Kamdev Baghel.
