Jagdalpur. Acting on the directives of Collector Haris S., the district administration has taken strict action against illegal sand mining. Under the guidance of Mining Officer Shikhar Cherpa, a mineral inspection team conducted a surprise raid in Baniyagaon village and caught six vehicles involved in illegal extraction of minor mineral sand.

During the operation, five tippers and one chain-mounted Poklen machine were seized on the spot and handed over to the police for custody. All vehicles, along with the mined material, have been confiscated, and proceedings have been initiated against the owners as per the rules.
The inspection team included Mining Officer Shikhar Cherpa, Mining Inspector Mridul Guha and Mining Constable Dikeswar Khare.

The administration has clarified that strict action will be taken in all cases under Rule 71 of the Chhattisgarh Minor Mineral Rules, 2015 and Section 21 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.
