Plans for Shutdown and Protest Rally in Bastar Division on November 7, Minister Kedar Kashyap Assures Strict Action

Jagdalpur. A delegation of the Chhattisgarh State Teachers’ Welfare Association, Raipur, led by Bastar District President Krishna Baghel, met Forest, Environment & Cooperatives Minister Kedar Kashyap at his Farsaguda residence. They once again apprised him of the working style, conduct, and alleged inhumane and autocratic behavior of Bastar Division’s Joint Director (Education) Rakesh Pandey towards teachers.

District President Baghel informed the minister that earlier too, during a meeting in Nava Raipur, the association’s state-level office-bearers had apprised him that Joint Director (Education) Rakesh Pandey was mentally harassing teachers. There is widespread resentment against him across the Bastar division. If he is not removed soon, the anger among teachers will intensify.

He further said that all educational organizations of Bastar Division are compelled to observe a divisional shutdown and hold a massive protest rally in Jagdalpur on November 7. If timely departmental action is not taken, the association will be forced to begin an agitation. Prior intimation of this has been given by all organizations.

Minister Kedar Kashyap, after listening to the delegation’s concerns seriously, said that officials who insult teachers and undermine their dignity are unacceptable under any circumstances. The state government is fully committed to safeguarding the honor and dignity of teachers. On this occasion, the minister assured concrete action.

Present during the meeting were State Organization Minister Shambhunath Nag, Divisional Organization Minister Maya Vaidya, District Secretary Farsuram Thakur, Block Vice President Somru Ram Baghel, and other office-bearers.
