The prompt action on teachers’ complaints and the removal of the Joint Director has boosted the morale of the teaching community
Jagdalpur. The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Teachers’ Welfare Association has expressed deep gratitude to Forest, Environment and Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap for the removal of Bastar Division Joint Director Rakesh Pandey.
State President Rajkishore Tiwari and General Secretary Denshnath Pandey said that Minister Kedar Kashyap has taken a commendable step by understanding the distress of teachers and acting with sensitivity and promptness. This decision will boost the morale of teachers and sends a strong message that justice and compassion still prevail in governance.
The Association wholeheartedly thanked the Minister for this initiative.
In the press release issued by the Association, it was stated that under the leadership of State President Rajkishore Tiwari and General Secretary Denshnath Pandey, a delegation had recently met the Minister at his residence in Nava Raipur. They submitted complaints regarding the misconduct, arbitrariness, and authoritarian behavior of Bastar Division Joint Director Rakesh Pandey towards teachers. The Minister was also informed about several incidents in which teachers were insulted and harassed during sudden inspections.
Minister Kedar Kashyap took immediate cognizance of the matter and directed the Education Department to initiate action. However, when no action was taken at the departmental level, widespread anger grew among teachers. As a result, the All Teachers’ Organization announced a divisional-level shutdown and protest rally for November 7.
Subsequently, on November 3, 2025, another delegation led by Bastar District President Krishna Baghel met the Minister and apprised him of the seriousness of the matter. The Minister immediately spoke to the Education Secretary over the phone, expressed his displeasure, and instructed the removal of Rakesh Pandey without delay.
Acting swiftly, the Education Secretary issued an order on November 4, 2025, removing Rakesh Pandey and appointing H.R. Som as the new Joint Director of Bastar Division. Following this decision, a wave of satisfaction spread among teachers across the division.
