Solar Rooftop Initiative Reduces Electricity Costs, Promotes Sustainable Living
Raipur. Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is emerging as an effective initiative that provides financial relief to households while promoting environmental sustainability. By enabling citizens to install rooftop solar power systems, the scheme is helping families significantly reduce rising electricity expenses while encouraging the adoption of clean and green energy.
Among the successful beneficiaries of the scheme is Shri Hemant Kumar Sahu, a resident of Mohla in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district. After installing a rooftop solar power system at his residence, Shri Sahu has witnessed a substantial reduction in electricity consumption from conventional sources. Most of his household’s power requirements are now being met through solar energy, resulting in a sharp decline in electricity bills and providing his family with consistent monthly savings.
Sharing his experience, Hemant Kumar Sahu said that before the installation of the solar system, his household electricity bill used to reach nearly Rs 10,000. However, after availing the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, his electricity expenses have reduced considerably. The savings have eased the family’s financial burden while enabling them to contribute towards the use of clean and renewable energy.
Sahu further said that the rooftop solar system has ensured an uninterrupted supply of electricity for his household, reduced dependence on conventional energy sources and generated sustained savings on power consumption. He described the scheme as not only economically beneficial but also an effective step towards environmental conservation by promoting the use of clean and renewable energy.
Appealing to citizens to take advantage of the scheme, Hemant Kumar Sahu said the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana offers immense benefits to ordinary households. He urged more people to adopt solar energy to reduce electricity expenses, contribute to India’s journey towards energy self-reliance and play an active role in building a cleaner and greener future. He also expressed his gratitude to the government and the administration for implementing the public welfare initiative.
