Raipur. A brief advertisement for 2,292 posts under the Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026 in Chhattisgarh was released on April 16, 2026. Subsequently, a detailed advertisement was published on the Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board’s website on July 24, 2026, and the online application process began on the same day. The last date for submitting applications was August 21, 2026.
The Social Welfare Department had issued a notification on February 25, 2026, specifying the disability categories identified for various posts in different departments. Under this notification, the completely blind (B) category was not identified as eligible for the post of Assistant Teacher. Accordingly, the posts reserved for persons with disabilities were determined in the detailed recruitment advertisement, and the completely blind category was not included.
The Social Welfare Department subsequently issued a revised notification on September 11, 2026, which also included the completely blind (B) category for the post of Assistant Teacher.
However, both the brief and detailed advertisements for Assistant Teacher recruitment had already been issued, and the online application process had been completed before the revised notification was released. Under these circumstances, it was not legally or practically possible to include the completely blind category in the ongoing recruitment process on the basis of the revised notification.
